The English Business Park in Old Shoreham Road, Hove, is due for completion next month and should be fully occupied during the start of the New Year.

The Weatherstone Property Group purchased the 0.7 acre site from British Telecom during 2001 and after obtaining full planning consent, started the development in March, 2002.

Interest in the site from local businesses was immediate and within a few months, some were ready to agree terms to purchase the modern units with their curved roof lines, attractive design frontages and high specification internal finishes.

Only two of the original 12 units remain unsold, with prices starting from £265,000 for a three-storey building of 2,300sqft gross internal area and three car parking spaces.

Selling agent Phil Graves, director at Graves Jenkins, said: "There is an extremely strong demand for owner occupation within the office market and this scheme most certainly fits the bill.

"With immediate access to great road communications and on-site parking, it was always going to be in demand."

Chris Weatherstone, managing director of the Weatherstone Property Group said he was delighted with the way the scheme had come together.

"It has been an all-round team effort to create the right units for the current market. The professional team, including the selling agents, architects, main contractors and quantity surveyors have all played their part."

An indication of the quality is that the developer and main contractor have taken units. Mr Weatherstone added: "I liked it so much, I bought one myself."

With only two to go, the development looks sure to be a success. One of the new occupiers, Trevor Clifton-Sprigg, managing director of AM Security, is due to re-locate early next year.

He said: "We had been seeking suitable premises to relocate to for more than two years and this scheme was the answer.

"The city centre is becoming a real problem for us with the traffic issues. The new site offers parking for both staff and clients which is ideal."
