Brighton produced a tremendous display to hold South Premier division two leaders Ashford to a 3-3 draw.

The Sussex side twice led against an Ashford team who went into this game with a 100 per cent.

Luke Williams opened the scoring from open play with his first goal of the season after Dave Delea and Pietro Attala had combined to set him up.

The hosts rallied to score twice for a 2-1 half time lead but Brighton hit back after the break with Craig Carolan bagging a brace to make it 15 goals in five matches.

Five minutes from time Ashford salvaged a point with a penalty flick.

Brighton skipper Carlo Missirian said: "The only disappointing thing was that we created nine short corners and we didn't score from any of them. It wasn't through bad execution. There were five saves from the goalkeeper and two cleared off the line.

"Ashford came off thinking they were fortunate to get a draw. It was very encouraging for us. We would have been happy with a point but with the way we played and the chances we created we were disappointed not to get all three."

In division one, Chichester finally recorded their first win of the season with an impressive 3-1 success away to Eastcote.

Skipper Sam Beere opened the scoring early in the second half from a switched short corner which came back off the keeper's pads and youngster Ralph Veltom made it 2-0 after Adam Beere had drawn the defenders to leave his team-mate to score with a classy finish.

Eastcote reduced the deficit only for Chi to respond immediately with Richard Blakesley scoring with a reverse stick shot.

A Fran Malam hat-trick earned Horsham a 3-1 win against Hounslow and Ealing which lifted them up to fourth place in Women's South division one.
