A 16-year-old boy suffered serious head and body injuries in a collision with a car in Newhaven.
The accident happened just after 1pm yesterday on the A259 Brighton Road near the KwikFit garage.
The victim was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
The driver of the Ford Mondeo involved in the crash, a 34-year-old woman from Newhaven, was unhurt.
The names of those involved have not been released by Sussex Police who operate data protection guidelines.
