Plans to improve the appearance of a popular shopping street will be shown in an exhibition later this month.

The scheme for Gardner Street in the North Laine area of Brighton aims to reduce traffic, increase pavement space for shoppers and make the street look more attractive.

It will follow similar work in nearby Sydney Street and Bond Street.

Brighton and Hove City Council is staging the exhibition at the Brighthlem Centre, North Road, Brighton, on Thursday from 10am until 7pm and on November 14 from 10am until 5pm.

On November 15 the exhibition will switch to upstairs at the Komedia in Gardner Street between 10am and 4pm.

Finally, it will be held at the City Direct office in Bartholomew Square from November 17 to 21 between 10am and 4pm.

Environment councillor Gill Mitchell said: "We want to give as many residents, business people and visitors as possible the chance to give us their thoughts on these proposals."
