Sidley United said goodbye to their team-mates James Duffell and Liam Cox on an emotionally-charged afternoon at Gullivers.

Reserve team player Carl Morris, a close friend of the two players who died in a car crash 11 days ago, led both sides out before a two-minute silence was held for their former team-mates.

Joint-boss Andy Laskey said: "It was a very, very, very emotional day.

"I have never experienced anything like it before in my life and I hope I never have to again. When the players came in after the warm-up there was silence in the dressing room.

"We would like to thank Shoreham for going along with everything we wanted to do to pay our respects to the players and their families who attended the game."

Sidley won 4-0 with goals from Mark Freeman, Matt Dadswell and a brace from Kevin Rose.
