Eastbourne maintained their 100 per cent start in Kent/Sussex division one with a 3-0 win away to Sussex rivals Crowborough.

Goals from Matt Copping from a short corner plus open play strikes from skipper Flo Pietzsch and Dan Hill made it four wins from four.

Pietzsch said: "It is going well but the next three games are the crunch matches because we are playing the teams who are second and third.

"After these games we will find out what our chances really are this season."

Southwick seemed to be on course for their first win since promotion from the Sussex Open League as they led 3-0 at half time away to Old Bordenians.

A Lee Wiles hat-trick had put Southwick in the driving seat but the hosts hit back in the second half to win 4-3.

Southwick's Ian Atkins said: "The opposition changed their formation at half time and packed the midfield which was not noted by us and it changed the flow of the game."

South Saxons suffered their first defeat of the campaign as they lost 2-1 at home to Burnt Ash. Danny Burnett netted for Saxons with his first goal of the season.

Crawley remain bottom without a point after losing 2-1 at home to Kings College London.

After falling behind on 50 minutes, Crawley had a chance to level when they were awarded a penalty flick following a foul of Kris Rai. However, Garry Hardwick's effort missed the target.

Kings College doubled their advantage ten minutes from time but Crawley ensured a tight finish when they reduced the deficit with five minutes to go as Mark Youings converted a short corner.

The game was superbly umpired by Duncan Wood-Allum in his first outing after having to give up playing for Mid Sussex due to injury.
