It's a great pity the media chose to focus most of its coverage of the Conservative Party Conference on the petty sniping of dinosaurs and failed former leadership candidates.

It was a pity for those people struggling to pay massive extra taxes brought in by Gordon Brown that more was not reported of Conservative plans to reduce tax.

Those enduring a crumbling NHS, like my mother, might have liked to hear more of the Patients Passport we plan to introduce.

What a shame those enduring violence on the streets missed the 40,000 police officers pledged by Oliver Letwin.

And what a shame our plans to restore the link between earnings and the State pension will have been missed by millions of pensioners living in poverty and fear thanks to Labour's refusal to match this pledge.

Is it any wonder people are fed up with their politicians?

All they hear about is internal feuding and squabbling.
