Peter Ljung rides for Eastbourne Eagles for the first time for nearly four months in tonight's British League Cup semi-final at Wolverhampton.
The World Cup sensation and world under-21 finalist has at last landed again in an Eagles race jacket after a series of false starts, and boss Jon Cook is looking for Ljung to produce his Continental form in England.
The young Swede was touted as a star in the making when he joined Eastbourne at the start of the season. The prediction has been spot on. Except when he has been in action for the Sussex outfit.
Ljung last rode against Coventry on June 9, when he failed to score. His last appearance in the cup was at Swindon in May, when he scored four points. His best effort to date is five points away to the Isle of Wight.
Cook said: "If we can keep it close on their track, then I think we can go through to the final, but we are taking nothing for granted. "
Eastbourne: David Norris, Peter Ljung, Dean Barker, Joonas Kylmakorpi, Adam Shields, Ulrich Ostergaard, Joel Parsons.
