So, Stuart Welling, retiring chief executive of Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, is being handed a whopping £140,000 annual salary to add to his already substantial pension (The Argus, September 18).
I found this disgusting when I read on the same day the trust was overspent by £2.7m and could ill afford this very generous payment, especially as the chief executive has overall responsibility for the budget.
