In response to the selfish and small-minded Mr D Christian, I also am a bit old to skate (I might try though) as I used to but it is a wonderful, healthy sport for young people.
I skated at the old ice rink in West Street all the time during my teenage years.
It was a great place to meet people, enjoy a healthy pastime and kept youngsters from hanging around street corners with nowhere to go.
Ice hockey is also sadly missed and it would be great to see Brighton Tigers back where they belong.
So I say to the council, please ignore people like Mr Christian and make sure Brighton gets its well deserved ice rink once more.
Do it for our future children and grandchildren.
