The figures quoted in the current edition of Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company's bus times made interesting reading, in particular those of the passengers carried.
A fleet of 251 buses and coaches carried some 33 million passengers.
However, when compared to the old Brighton Corporation figures for 1947 (34 million passengers carried with a fleet of just 65 buses which included 44 superb trolley buses) it shows just how far modern operators are away from achieving anything like that again.
