A man shaved every hair from another man's body before plucking his eyelashes out with pliers.

Gabriel Logan then rubbed gritty soap into his victim's wounds.

Logan, 26, of St George's Terrace, Brighton, yesterday pleaded guilty to putting the man in fear of violence and harassment between August 2002 and March this year.

He also admitted causing actual bodily harm to his victim on February 19.

After admitting the charges, Logan told Judge Anthony Niblett: "I want to apologise to him and I have £3,000 in savings which I want to give him as compensation."

Michael Warren, prosecuting, said one of the incidents happened on a train from London to Brighton.

Judge Niblett was shown a photograph of the victim who was covered in cuts and completely without body hair.

Logan was due to appear for the hearing on Monday but, while being held in the court cells, slashed his arms with a razor blade he had smuggled inside.

He told security staff he had swallowed the blade.

Paramedics treated his injuries and he was able to return to court yesterday where he entered the guilty pleas.

Jeremy Wainwright, defending, said Logan was being detained in a secure unit near Eastbourne.

He asked for an adjournment for psychiatric reports to be prepared.

Logan was remanded in custody until October 17.
