A hospice for terminally ill people is appealing for 30 people to take a charity parachute jump.

The jump is being organised in honour of the St Barnabas Hospice's 30th anniversary.

The hospice, in Colombia Drive, Worthing, is conducting a number of celebrations this year but daring fund-raisers are needed to kick-start the festivities.

The freefall parachute jump will take place on October 19.

A hospice spokeswoman said: "Imagine what it would feel like to stand at the edge of an airplane's open door while flying at 10,000ft above the distant outline of fields below.

"As the noise of the wind and engines ring in your ears, you leave the plane and freefall through the clouds at 120mph.

"Become one of our 30 jumpers and you could experience all of this for free.

"You'll also be raising money for St Barnabas Hospice - that's two great reasons to get involved."

To book a place on the jump, phone Kate or Gill on 01903 265824.
