A historic painting owned by Brighton Museum and Art Gallery has been loaned to Japan until the end of the year.
The Raising of Lazarus was painted by Jan Lievens in 1631, when he was sharing a studio with Rembrandt in Leiden, The Netherlands.
The painting, which depicts how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, was discovered in Rembrandt's studio when he died.
It was bequeathed to Brighton Museum by benefactor Henry Willett.
The National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo has been loaned the painting until December.
While it is in Japan another 17th Century Dutch painting, Church Interior by Van Bassan, will hang in its place.
It has been cleaned by Janet Brough from the Royal Pavilion's conservation department.
