I have just returned home after major surgery. Every member of staff in the hospital was magnificent - working hard, long hours and always with a smile.
With this in mind, how can Brighton and Hove City Council chief executive David Panter justify a £25,000 pay rise?
I have more faith in my dogs than I have in council leader Ken Bodfish, who defended the decision.
My wife and I moved to this address about two weeks ago from within the area.
Our taxes have risen considerably, as have those of hard-working people at the hospital.
Mr Panter's pay rise is certainly not justified. No wonder it was agreed at a secret meeting.
