News that Brendon Fearon, the burglar shot by Tony Martin, has been released after serving only a third of his sentence beggars belief.

It has convinced me Mr Martin was a political prisoner of an establishment petrified of an outraged public taking the law into our own hands after realising we have only ourselves to protect our homes and families.

We need a Tony Martin Day along the lines of the day when the Countryside Alliance shook the Government to its core.

If only a fraction of the people who have been burgled turned up at Hyde Park, the law would change to absolve homeowners from liability for injuries caused to thugs who have been given a licence to rob.
