I have lived at my present address for 30 years. When my family was young we enjoyed a well-kept field at the rear of our garden which was beautiful for walking in.

Scouts pitched their tents and camped out in safety, football matches were held and Braybon invited us to join in with their firework displays.

The wildlife has always been so enjoyable - foxes can be heard at night and, on occasions, wander up the garden during the day. Many species of birds love the hedges and trees and bats are seen flying around in the evening.

Beautiful trees surround the field. I cannot believe the intention to cut some of these down to make clearance for development.

Sadly, when the gates were padlocked, the field deteriorated, the grass was no longer cut regularly and travellers appeared in the field.

Over 30 years, I have seen an increase of traffic to all roads. The congestion in Glen Rise alone is a nightmare for buses. The junction from Valley Drive into Dyke Road Avenue is hazardous and rush hour is atrocious.

Extra volume of traffic to all these areas will be a great concern - many serious accidents and minor ones have already occurred.

I hope all of our objections will be taken into consideration and, most of all, I hope our lovely field is preserved.
