East Sussex League: There was a fine game in progress at Battle in division two where the hosts raced to 82-1 against Iden thanks to 36 from Grant Harrison and 33 by Ned Gammel.

However, Richard Curd (5-21) and Paul Barnett (3-34) sparked a collapse which saw Battle slump to 100-8 before the rain intervened to save them.

Vince Woolley scored an entertaining 37 not out for Hellingly at home to Barcombe. His knock included two sixes and five fours but wickets fell around him and Hellingly were struggling on 124-8 when it rained. Skipper Paul Wheatley added 28 and Steve Hook 22 while Allan Trower (4-18) and Joe Wheatley (2-42) stood out for the visitors.

A third wicket stand of 81 between Bryan Pratt (40) and Dan Brazier (33) helped Wadhurst on their way to 165-7 against St Peters. Leg-spinner Harry Birmingham (4-46) sparked a bit of a collapse but when the rain came Graham Dean (48 not out) was beginning to dominate and looked set to achieve a competitive total in the conditions.

Tim Friend scored 64 not out to leave Rottingdean well placed on 119-3 against Uckfield Anderida while Ditchling had scored 102-3 against Lewes St Michael's before an early end. Olly Burns hit 37 not out for Ditchling and Matthew Searle 32.
