There has seldom been a time like February and March this year when politicians at Westminster were so out of step with the views of the majority.
The issue was war against Iraq and many felt powerless as leaders from both major parties backed taking Britain into a war they did not want.
Opinion changed once the war started and was won quickly but some felt sufficiently concerned to start a new organisation.
Our World Our Say, based in Brighton, aims to give people more say in global issues such as war and famine.
Our leaders should listen to public opinion on the biggest issues of the day.
