Pride members have called a crisis meeting to discuss the disappearance of thousands of pounds of charity cash.

More than £9,000 raised for good causes in Sussex vanished after last year's gay and lesbian festival.

Pride business associates have been invited to the meeting on Thursday to ensure this summer's event goes ahead.

James Ledward, of the committee, wrote to members: "This is to bring you up to date with the situation and to look at the options for ensuring the event goes ahead as planned this year."

Auditors Chisnall, Comer and Ismail are investigating where the £9,000 has gone. Only two grants, totalling £1,500, have been paid.
