Ice cream maker Richmond Foods said sales from its soft ice cream business had exceeded initial expectations in the first half as it vies to overtake market leader Walls.
Richmond, based at Northallerton, North Yorkshire, said sales had picked up strongly in the second quarter when the firm increased its share of the take-home ice cream sector.
