Seven men were appearing in court today accused of conspiracy to steal £1.1 million from HSBC Bank at Gatwick Airport.
The men were arrested by the Metropolitan Police's Organised Crime Group yesterday and charged last night.
They were to appear before Bow Street magistrates later today.
All seven have been charged with conspiracy to steal £1,123,639 from HSBC Bank at Gatwick on March 27.
They are: Tony Bowers, 45, from Chingford; Martin Bowers, 42, from Canning Town; Paul Bowers, 45, from Canning Town; Lewis Nicholls, 54, of Maidstone; Joseph Ashman, 35, of Rainham, Essex; Spencer Chamberlain, 34, of Maidstone; Johnathon Turner, 42, of Plaistow.
Two other men arrested yesterday - a 51-year-old man and a 48-year-old man, both from Canning Town - remained in custody.
Police swooped on 14 addresses in Essex, East London and Kent yesterday.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Serious and Organised Crime Command with officers from local police forces recovered nine firearms and 50 rounds of ammunition plus a quantity of class C drugs in the raids.
