Bobby Zamora may soon be leaving the Albion - but at least the lethal left foot which has shot him to stardom will be staying in Sussex.

Albion's talismanic striker, who has scored 77 goals in three seasons with the club, is coveted by a host of Premiership clubs and has been valued at more than £2 million.

But Jerry and Kate Daly, of Eastbourne-based Creative Casts, have immortalised his most important asset in plaster.

They created a mould while he took a break from a gruelling weights session.

It will be touched up, painted gold and given to the striker, while a copy will be cast from the moulding and auctioned for charity.

"I've not had anything like this done before," Bobby said while Jerry poured a quick-drying liquid rubber compound around his toes.

"It feels very cold - freezing."

As he sat on the weights bench at Falmer, up to his ankle in blue gunge, Bobby explained why he did not feel at home with his feet up.

He said: "I'm supposed to be having a rest now for next season. But you have to keep fit otherwise when you get back for pre-season training, you'll hit a brick wall."

After three minutes, the mould had been created and Bobby was able to remove his foot while Jerry started the next stage, filling the mould with plaster.

Just half an hour later, Bobby, 22, was head-over-heels to see the finished cast.

Kate explained a couple of air bubbles would be filled in before it received a final shiny coating.

The second cast will eventually be auctioned for the charity Allergy-Induced Autism, alongside a model of Chris Eubank's clenched fist and other celebrity appendages.
