Andrew Goodburn, finance director, hoped the Budget would increase tax breaks for energy efficient cars, particularly after the company was praised for its new hybrid diesel/electric vehicle.
He hoped there would no more increases in national insurance contributions (NICs). He also called for measures to revitalise the stock market and alleviate pension fund pain.
l Ricardo will still be feeling the pain of the recent NICs increase but at least no more increases were announced. The tax breaks for "greener" cars might help, as could the extension of the research and development tax credit.
