Waiting for a train recently at Lewes station brought back memories of the day in 1961 when I stood on the same platform as an extra in Jack Warner's film Jigsaw.
Jigsaw, shot entirely in Brighton and the surrounding area, told the story of the painstakingly difficult task the police had in piecing together the shreds of evidence following a major crime.
Most interestingly, The Argus is featured in the film - one of the characters is a reporter "from The Argus" who pops up at regular intervals in a quest for information on the latest developments in the investigation.
Brighton Rock and Genevieve are probably the most famous of the many films made on location in Brighton.
Over the years, hundreds of local residents have taken extra roles and must have many tales to tell.
