Eastbourne Borough are facing a race against time to get their ground ready for premier division football, should they get promoted.

Borough, currently second in the eastern division, are appealing for bricklayers, carpenters and plumbers as they battle to meet the March 31 deadline for ground improvements at Priory Lane.

Manager Garry Wilson said: "We will have a ground inspection shortly after March 31, which is the Southern League's deadline for improvements to be made.

"There is quite a lot to do within the timescale. We will get the work done but obviously the more people who help the better.

"If any supporters have a Saturday free, like those who don't go to away games, their help would be welcome. They don't have to be tradesmen, anyone who can push a wheelbarrow will be useful."

Contractors will also work on the ground, which is one of the best in Sussex and staged the Sussex Senior Cup final last season.

Matt Crabb (knee ligament damage) is the only absentee for tomorrow's match against Stamford.
