I have tried hard to ignore Averil Older's regular snipes but enough is enough (Letters, March 8).
I, with Councillor Simon Battle and Betty Walshe, am truly proud of George Street and what we have achieved so far.
We look forward to total pedestrianisation shortly. I am regularly told how the street has improved as we await the final legal regulations being in place.
Sadly for us, Vallance ward will no longer exist because of reorganisation.
The good news is everyone north of Clarendon Villas will join Goldsmid in a new ward that Simon Battle, Vince Meegan and I hope to represent on May 1.
