An elderly woman driving an electric buggy was seriously injured when she was involved in a collision with a BMW car.
Police said the victim, 79, had just moved from a pavement into Kingsway, Hove, near the junction with Wharf Road, when the accident happened at 10.40am on Saturday.
She was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
The car driver, 21 and from Hove, was uninjured.
The names of those involved have not been released by Sussex Police, who operate data protection guidelines.
