Falmer residents will have the highest council tax bills in the Lewes District Council area if the council's capital fund programme is approved.

A Band D property will face an annual bill of £1,428.83 after its parish precept is included.

Similar residents in parishes such as Ilford and Tarring Neville will only have to pay £1,171.66.

Owners of the most expensive Band H homes in Falmer will have to pay £2,857.66.

Across the district, the average Band D householder will have to pay £143.49 for council services, such as refuse collection. A further £930.43 will go to East Sussex County Council and £97.74 to the Sussex Police Authority. There will also be precepts imposed by most parishes.

The budget will be discussed by Lewes District Council on Wednesday.
