Two-goal Nigel Brake ensured that Francis Vines ended his spell as Crawley caretaker manager with a 4-2 home win against lowly Cambridge City.
Victory means Vines has won seven out of ten games since the resignation of Billy Smith.
Assistant manager Vic Bettinelli said: "Three wins in a week has been great for us and we've not got a bad record as we've also secured two semi-final places. Francis and I have made our point.
"I think if we get the job, we can take the players onto another level from here as well."
City took the lead against the run of play on 23 minutes when Kevin Wilkin's pass dissected the Reds defence and Danny Bloomfield slotted past Andy Little.
Brake scored his first goal of the season to equalise nine minutes later and then put Reds ahead five minutes before the interval.
Mo Harkin increased Crawley's lead in the 66th minute before City pulled one back on 72 minutes when Marc Pullan was adjudged to have tripped Robbie Simpson in the box and Adie Hayes converted the penalty.
Nic McDonnell completed the scoring eight minutes from time, netting the rebound after Neil Le Bihan had been denied by Martin Davies.
