Dan Hill scored four times as Eastbourne eased to a 7-1 win over rock bottom University of Kent in Kent/Sussex division one.

Kevin Williams, Angus Williams and Dan Bradley also found the target for an Eastbourne side who have already ruled out promotion.

Victory consolidated fourth spot but they remain five points behind third placed Old Bordenians and another five behind leaders Sutton Valence.

Skipper James Mackay said: "We would like to finish in the top three if we could. If we can catch Old Bordenians that would be good. Then we can start building for next year.

"We feel we are one of the better sides in the league and next year, if we can keep the side together, we can be looking for promotion."

Crawley's match with Crowborough was postponed while South Saxons were also off away to Burnt Ash.

Phoenix have been drawn away to Riverside in the second round of the national mixed cup, the Timpson Trophy.

The match will take place on February 23. Phoenix won through with a 6-1 defeat of Old Midwhitgiftians in the first round.
