Paul and Berta Busby have shown a novel way of protesting against impending conflict with Iraq.

They have declared their home in Ringmer independent of Britain's foreign policy and are suggesting other people do the same.

Both feel strongly that the Government's support for military action is not representative of the people as a whole.

If enough follow their example, public opinion could have an effect on Tony Blair and Jack Straw by making them feel isolated.

Meanwhile, this couple and others like them can reflect that in Britain they have the freedom to disagree with the Government.

No such freedom is available to the people of Iraq they are trying to support because the country is run by a murderous dictatorship.
