How can it be possible that South Central Trains chief executive Keith Ludeman was able to order 736 new carriages without first having the common sense to check the electricity supply could support them?

His comment "I do not know what the attractions around Victoria are but they do take a long time to get home" cemented my opinion of this man's ignorance.

Surely he has visited London and knows where the museums, theatres, shops and places of interest are? Of course, London Bridge station is also useful if you are visiting attractions that side of London but the majority are near the Victoria area.

Now we must all pay for his mistake. No wonder he had to give evidence at the House of Commons transport committee.

It should not be too difficult to replace him with a more responsible individual.
