How right is James Walshe (Letters, December 31) regarding the West Pier.
The people of Brighton and Hove, the neglect generally of our city - I just cannot imagine how it became a city - with the lazy, don't-give-a-damn attitude of its people, its filthy streets, the continual roadworks all being done and left for ages to cause chaos.
It certainly is not the Brighton and Hove it used to be. There is no dignity whatsoever any more. I find young people so incredibly selfish.
