Bognor are right back in the London Four South East promotion race after a superb 14-5 derby win at leaders Chichester.

Winger Andy Shipp stole the glory with a second half try and three penalties but skipper Karl Flynn sang the praises of his entire side.

Flynn said: "I'm very proud of the players. They were absolutely outstanding and everybody played a part.

"We have always been capable of results like this but we needed that extra bit of self belief. Winning at Hove the previous week helped give us that and now this league is wide open again."

Bognor led 6-5 at the break and survived Chi's best spell of the game early in the second half before completing victory. Winger Christian Davies scored Chi's try.

Hove lost 6-0 in a battering at Folkestone but skipper Richard Jackson said: "Just getting all 15 players off the pitch was a result for us."

Jackson said one red card, when a Folkestone prop punched Dominic Henderson, was scant punishment for what he felt was excessive foul play by the hosts.

He added: "There were cheap shots flying in from them all over the place. Every time you went into a ruck you were thinking 'Am I going to get out of this one?'.

"The referee didn't look after the players at all. When their prop was sent off I told my lads 'keep your discipline and they will end up with 12 men' but it didn't happen."

Meanwhile, Crawley lost 12-5 at Beccehamians, whose speedy back line made the difference.

Alistair Butler scored the second-half try which gave Crawley hope after they had gone 12-0 down.

Heathfield and Waldron are pulling away from danger. Veteran forward Rob Streeter was the hero on Saturday with two tries in a thoroughly deserved 15-3 home win over Guy's Hospital.

Lewis Beale added a conversion and a penalty as Heath relished the heavy conditons.
