Brighton's title credentials will be put to the test by a fast-improving Worthing side tomorrow.

A 5-3 win over Blackheath in last Saturday's top-of-the-table clash put Brighton eight points clear in the Kent/Sussex Regional League.

With two games left before the Christmas break, Brighton skipper Carlo Missirian is anxious to maintain that margin.

Missirian said: "We have beaten Blackheath but we still have two games before Christmas we want to win. Worthing are the in-form team and we see that as a difficult game.

"If we can get another three points we can hopefully maintain the gap until Christmas."

Worthing have selection problems for the clash with goalkeeper Dan Godsmark doubtful after getting injured in training. Ramiz Inga is also missing and top scorer Dan Lock is out. Mark Duncan may also be out through work commitments, so the seconds will be called on.

Simon Jones is missing for Horsham as they visit Tunbridge Wells.

In the National League, East Grinstead player-coach Ian Pattison makes an emotional return to Havant.

Pattison spent seven seasons with Havant and was part of the side which won the premier division.

Grinstead take an unchanged squad for the clash and will be buoyed by last week's 8-0 hammering of Blueharts.

Lewes will be looking for maximum points away to lowly Peterborough Town.

Skipper Will Champness is rated 50-50 with a leg injury. Luke Hurle and Matthew Lloyd return after missing the Havant game, so Liam Russell steps back down to the seconds. Carl Wright is out with a hamstring problem.

Champness said: "It is another critical game and we are expecting to win."

Horsham ladies fly the flag for Sussex in the HA Women's Cup when they visit Olton and West Warwicks.
