As somebody who has a "forgettery" rather than a "memory", I had to write concerning the story about the four "brainy" children (November 29).

They are not necessarily so. They have good retentive memories but that is not the same as being brainy.

With computers, books and libraries, we have the means to find out any facts we need to know. We don't need memory.

The power of reasoning is another matter. Where would our scientists and inventors be without that faculty?

Education should be directed towards encouraging children with reasoning, inquiring and intelligent minds, for where would the scientists and inventors come from in the future?
