Albion boss Steve Coppell could bring in more players to strengthen his injury-hit squad.

Coppell has already brought in Dean Blackwell, Simon Rodger, Daniel Webb, Andy Petterson and Steven Sidwell on loan since taking over the helm last month.

But injuries have forced him to look again at the Seagulls squad, especially up front.

Paul Kitson has played only a handful of games since his loan move and has yet to play under Coppell after undergoing back surgery.

Graham Barrett missed Saturday's win over Derby with a knee injury which has ruled him out of the Republic of Ireland squad for Wednesday's trip to Greece while his strike partner Bobby Zamora had to play through Achilles and ankle injuries plus a second-half hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Dean Blackwell was ruled out by a hamstring injury and his replacement Adam Hinshelwood lasted only half an hour before dislocating a shoulder.

"There are always going to be occasions when two or three are injured and if they are in the wrong positions you really are exposed," Coppell said.

"We've still got to get another couple in to bulk it up even more."

Zamora will not now be linking up with the England under-21's for their get-together at Burnham Beeches this week.

"We have spoken to the doctor and Bobby is staying with us for treatment," Coppell said.

"Graham won't go away with Ireland now. He has spoken with Don Givens and Don said he'd be better off staying here."
