Daniel Webb has spoken of his delight at rejoining Albion on a month's loan from Southend.

The teenage target man says he never wanted to leave.

Webb's return, first revealed by The Argus on Thursday, was completed yesterday. He was training with the Seagulls today and is likely to be added to the squad for Monday's match at Wolves.

The 19-year-old son of former Chelsea defender David Webb was with Albion on loan from December to the end of last season.

He was under the impression the move would become permanent for a £25,000, but Albion abandoned the deal after Peter Taylor resigned as manager.

"I absolutely love it here," Webb said. "I never wanted to leave in the first place.

"I came on leaps and bounds. Being part of a promoted team was fantastic and the fact that the fans took to me was very helpful."

Cameroon-born Roger Pandong, an 18-year-old left sided attacker or midfielder, impressed in his first training session of an extended trial with Albion after appearances for Leeds and Charlton reserves.

"He seems a very capable player, although it is very difficult to tell in one session," Coppell said. "We will just be taking it a month at a time with him."

Coppell played down a recent report linking him with released Crystal Palace defender Dean Austin, but he is seeking to further strengthen the squad.

"It's a unique situation at Brighton where we've got a two month period in which we have got to be seen to be having a go and having a go implies bringing players in," said the Seagulls chief.

"We've got to at least be seen to be attempting that, even if it is unsuccessful."

Coppell is still mulling over who will replace the banned Paul Brooker on the left flank for Monday's match against Wolves at Molineux, where Albion have won on six of their seven previous League visits.

Wolves will be without strike pair Nathan Blake (foot) and George Ndah (knee), plus midfielder Colin Cameron (toe).

The FA are waiting for the club's response to ref Phil Prosser's claim that he was racially abused by fans at the match against Sheffield United at Withdean three weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Albion's plan for extra seats is being held up by objections from Withdean residents and Brighton and Hove Athletics Club.

The club have been drawn at home to Wimbledon in the third round of the FA Youth Cup, with the date and venue to be confirmed. Dean Wilkins' side reached round five last season.
