A man wearing a pair of boxer shorts on his head was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Police were called to Morley Street, Brighton, on Saturday when neighbours reported a flat had been broken into.
The suspect was spotted nearby and arrested.
A force spokesman said: "We're not sure where the boxer shorts came from. The man is being seen by doctors."
