Although Jock Riddell was the Albion kitman for a number of years, he was more than that.
My son and I spent many a humorous moment with him at away games. I first found out Jock was ill when my father (Ron Walls) was admitted to the Martlets Hospice.
Jock was in the bed opposite my dad. He never knew my dad personally but when Jock realised how ill my dad was, he broke down.
When my dad was nearing the end of his life, Jock gave up his room so my dad could spend his final days in private with his family.
I speak for my whole family when I send our deepest sympathies to Jock's family in their sad loss.
Jock, you were a true gent and an inspiration to many. God bless you.
