Just a thought about the way the police manage their time and allocate priorities.
Burglary in progress - too busy, no one available. Cycles on pavements and roads without lights, ignoring traffic lights - not interested, no manpower.
Motorcycles ignoring speed limits, cutting up cars - did not see it, therefore it could not have happened.
Untaxed vehicles - not our problem, see the traffic wardens. Seafront party - too big, too many people, we did not know this many were going to turn up.
Number one in the priorities list this past week - "protesters against badger culling", as seen on TV; four cars and six officers (looks good in the media, though).
I suppose there could have been a breach of the peace if only one officer had been there.
I am not making light of the serious protest being made and am delighted at the result achieved.
