A block of garages which became a dumping ground for rubbish has been cleared by the city council following our article.
Councillor Brian Fitch took action after residents near Godwin Road and Egmont Road, Hove, complained they were falling into a state of disrepair.
He wrote to the council, appealing for items such as a broken lawnmower, old tyres and an abandoned bed to be removed from the garage block. The door of one council-owned garage had also broken off.
Residents were concerned the garages were becoming a health hazard.
A council spokeswoman said: "We had already planned to carry out the necessary work as soon as possible and the repairs were done on Monday.
"We have replaced a garage door and all of the rubbish has been cleared away."
