Our readers have helped police catch a second burglary suspect after we published pictures of three wanted men.

Brighton and Hove police received an anonymous telephone call that John Paul Connelly, 28, was in Manchester.

He was featured on this site and the front page of The Argus last Thursday, when police appealed for information on his whereabouts.

Inquiries were made and Greater Manchester police helped arrest Mr Connelly at an address in Warrington.

Last night, he was at Altcourse Prison, Liverpool, and Brighton and Hove detectives were expected to question him later this week.

Mr Connelly was wanted for questioning in connection with a burglary in Freshfield Road, Brighton, last month.

A second man featured in the article was arrested when another reader contacted police.

Christopher Wall, 30, pleaded guilty to burglary at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Monday.

He admitted burglary at a design company's office in Ditchling Road, Brighton.

Magistrates heard he had admitted another burglary at the same office at a previous hearing and he asked for five other break-ins at commercial premises in the city to be taken into consideration.

The magistrates were told Wall, who has previous convictions, committed the offences to feed his drug habit.

He was released on bail and will be sentenced on November 4.

Chief Inspector Peter Mills of Brighton and Hove police, said: "I am very pleased and grateful to all those people who have called us with information since The Argus article appeared.

"We are now seriously considering releasing details of others wanted for questioning in connection with crimes."

A third burglary suspect featured in the article, Ricky Brigden, 26, is still at large. He is wanted for allegedly failing to appear in court on a charge of burglary at an address in the city in June.

Anyone with information should contact Brighton and Hove police on 0845 6070999.
