The front page of The Argus (October 1) left me speechless for once.
Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company is up for an award.
For what? How many people you can cram on to one bus? How many buses of the same number arrive at the same stop together (three is the best I have seen so far)?
What is Roger French so proud of? The huge profit they have made? Could the 50 per cent increase in passengers have anything to do with stricter parking regulations and traffic wardens issuing tickets at the drop of a hat?
What a pity the mystery shopper could not have visited in July and August, when our bus company could easily have won the "How to make passengers feel like a sardine" award.
If Mr French goes to collect any award (other than the booby prize), he has more front than Brighton and Hove put together and if the bus company does win anything, God help the bus companies in the rest of the country.
Mr French is not all bad, though. It was very kind of him to transport the breast unit campaigners. Well done on that count .
