Martin Hinshelwood today urged his players to follow the example of Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen as his side try to turn their season around.

The Albion boss is adamant one win could provide the spark to drag the club away from the foot of the first division.

"Everyone has been on the back of Michael Owen all season," he said. "And look what he did on Saturday - he got a hat-trick.

"Things can change very quickly in football and my players can take that on board.

"We just need a win to get us going because there's nothing wrong with the commitment and the effort from my players.

"But there's nothing like winning games in football. Commitment and effort aren't enough if you're not winning matches.

"We know we've got to start winning, but there are no magic answers. We've just got to keep working and keep doing the little things right."
