Newly-promoted Eastbourne have made the best start of the Sussex sides in London Three South East following their superb 31-13 success at Betteshanger.
The hosts referred to their Wellfare Ground as Fortress Betteshanger in the match programme and Eastbourne duly handed them their first home league defeat in three years.
Front row trio Dave Webbon, Jamie Baldwin and Mark Bedford-Turner laid the foundation for victory which put Eastbourne second in the early standings.
Jamie Bremer scored an opportunist try, following up a kick that was dropping short, and Matt Thompson powered over from a scrum.
Adrian Norwood and Sam Gower also touched down with Ollie Cummings converting all four and kicking a penalty.
