All-rounder Robin Martin-Jenkins became the third Sussex batsman to reach 1,000 first-class runs for the season at Hove today.
Martin-Jenkins pushed the second ball of the third day from Mark Wagh into the leg side to reach the milestone but his hopes of ending the summer with a flourish were soon ended.
Slow left-armer Jamie Spires had him caught at slip pushing forward in the third over of the morning, the first of four wickets for Warwickshire this morning.
The other two were taken by Mo Sheikh, who was rewarded for a mammoth 14-over spell from the Sea End with the wickets of Carl Hopkinson and Tim Ambrose.
Hopkinson helped the Australian put on 27 in 13 overs for the sixth wicket when he drove hard outside off stump and Dominic Ostler took another outstanding slip catch off a thick edge.
Sheikh struck again in his next over, pinning Ambrose back on his stumps to win a leg before verdict from umpire Ian Gould.
Kevin Innes and Mark Davis batted with increasing authority before the former was caught behind off Dougie Brown in the next over with the lead now 323.
