Hastings produced another solid defensive display as they drew 0-0 at struggling Moor Green in the premier division.

Only two sides have conceded fewer goals than George Wakeling's outfit who might have snatched all three points when a second-half Chris Honey header hit the bar.

The hosts had their moments. Former Birmingham striker John Gayle was off target with a shot on 52 minutes after he had been put clear by Marvin Blake while Hastings goalkeeper Dave King kept out efforts from Martin Myers and Jai Stanley.

At the other end, Stuart Myall fired over from close range while former Aston Villa goalkeeper Adam Rachel turned over a header from Danny Simmonds. who then fired wide from 30 yards in injury time with Rachel out of position.

Wakeling said: "Defensively we were solid again and I think a point each was a fair result.

"They have not been doing too well but guys like John Gayle are big and experienced and you have to match that and we did."
