A woman who was being questioned by police over the alleged attempted murder of a child has been released on police bail.
Police said the 39-year-old woman from Bognor was now a voluntary patient.
A Sussex force spokesman said: "She is due to return to Chichester police station in six weeks."
The woman was arrested on August 15 after she and a 15-month-old child were found in the sea off Selsey Bill.
A search had been launched to find the pair after a car was driven on to the beach.
